What’s the big deal with work out t shirts?
Okay, here are 5 advantages I’ve found with work out t shirts (mainly compression shirts).
1) They absorb sweat better.
This lets you work out more comfortably. Don’t you just hate it when you’re getting intense in a WOD, you’re sweating like crazy, then you get that weird “cold” feeling from your drenched shirt? It’s such a crappy feeling, right?
With a compression shirt, you won’t have to worry about that nonsense.
2) They don’t get in the way when you work out
With normal t-shirts, they’re generally too loose and hinder your movements as you’re plowing through at WOD at your local CrossFit box.
Fortunately, with compression work out shirts the snug fit prevents any of this kind of stuff from happening. Wearing certain materials even makes it feel like you’re not wearing anything, giving your body the freedom it needs to smash those WOD times.
3) Compression work out t shirts make you look good
That is…if you happen to be in shape. If you aren’t in shape, then maybe getting a size that’s not as form-fitting would do.
For those who are in shape…man, the right-sized shirt can make you look jacked. In reality, none of this stuff should really matter to you. But still…that added bit of confidence can go a long way for your workouts.
That added push to your mental game can help you PR your Fran time, can help you push for that 1 rep max back squat, or string together a painful session of muscle ups.
4) They help decrease recovery time
As mentioned earlier, these shirts keep your body warm even as it sweats. As a result, your recovery time decreases, helping your body with its overall endurance.
Who wouldn’t want that extra bit of juice during longer runs or 20+ minute CrossFit WOD’s that require lots of pacing?
5) You’ll get more bang for your buck
When compression gear first came out, only a few brands existed. Because of this and the technology being fairly new, prices were ridiculous. And some of these brands still cost almost as much.
Now, there are many alternatives out there that get the job done at a fraction of the price.
On top of that, these work out t shirts generally last longer than your run-of-the-mill t-shirt. Have you ever bought a $25 shirt at your box only to throw it away or make it a cleaning rag after only a few months?
That’s the kind of stuff you won’t have to deal with when it comes to a solid, work out t shirt.
